Social control in Fata

ALTHOUGH the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) in Pakistan have remained economically and politically isolated from the rest of the country for the last several decades, the socio-cultural and socio-political patterns in this region over the past 30 years or so must be understood if we are to devise a rational and effective approach to the potentially explosive conditions there.
